Sogno d’oro: LALEO 2012

Santa Severina, a holy name for me, the name of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy where I was born for the second time. So I can say that Santa Severina has become my second home and I go back every year. For me and my fellow Romanians it was a unique and beautiful experience. We found people and places of which we have been fascinated and fell in love.

My story began in 2008 when as a student at the Faculty of Theology, University of Ovidius Constanta (Romania), I came with a study scholarship. So I fell in love with everything: language, culture, Saint severinesi, the people from L.A.L.E.O., with ALL. Precisely for this reason I did my bachelor thesis on Byzantines in Santa Severina and now I am a student at the Faculty of Arts, Romanian-Italian (in the same university ). It’s my way of saying to my Italian friends: I love you with all my heart.

This year I came back for the fourth time and I found the Free Academy of European and Oriental Languages a little rejuvenated, equipped with an interactive whiteboard and other things, but what mattered most was the spirit. If at the beginning of the month there were just so many young people coming from different countries, at the end of the course we have become a large family which did not wanted to break apart ever; that was the most difficult time. It was the advantage that we became friends and we stayed in touch over the internet and some students will meet each year to L.A.L.E.O.

The courses were not only in the morning, when we studied in an organized area, but all day, because among ourselves and with others we spoke only in Italian. Additionally, we visited beautiful places, such as Bari, Reggio Calabria, Pompei, Tropea, Bivongi and these cultural experiences have improved our knowledge of the Italian culture and after all, I can say that, in my opinion, communicating and traveling was the best way to learn a foreign language.

Although we came back home for a short time, my heart is always there and I cannot wait to go back again to meet with my old friends, visit other beautiful places and improve my Italian.

  1. Thanks a lot for providing individuals with remarkably nice possiblity to read from this site. It’s always very excellent plus full of a great time for me and my office friends to visit your blog more than 3 times weekly to find out the newest guides you have. And indeed, we are usually amazed with your eye-popping points you give. Selected 2 ideas on this page are undeniably the best I have had.

  2. I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, its rare to see a great blog like this one these days..
